Build a Custom Overdrive Pedal, and make it sound like you want!
During this workshop, you will build your own AUSTINDRIVE guitar pedal using hand tools, soldering irons, and electronic multi-meters. Following the AUSTINDRIVE Tutorial and videos (below), YOU will solder components to a printed circuit board, then audition and install the components that will define your own overdrive sound.
Build with your ears!
The tone components are in sockets, so if you don’t like it… swap-out a few parts and change the sound! You are in charge of your sound: there are 500,000 ways to build this pedal, based on more than 25 components you pick-out, listen to, and change. Drive and Tone can range from smooth blues, to 60’s Fuzz, to metal. It truly is “building” and “designing” a custom guitar pedal that you will be proud to use for years.
Bring your own guitar, or use one of ours. We will have amplifiers and HOURS to tweak your sounds.
Click here for the illustrated AustinDrive plans.
Instructors at the workshop will help coach new inventors,
But if you’ve never soldered before, take a look at this awesome Soldering Comic Book!
Don’t wait until the day of the workshop!!
Before March 9, download the PDF plans above, and watch an example assembly playlist on YouTube:
